GEM Iran : A survey and global entrepreneurial indexes conducted for the first time by the faculty of Entrepreneurship of University of Tehran
The Faculty of Entrepreneurship of the University of Tehran has for the first time, investigated and evaluated the entrepreneurial indexes in compliance with the GEM´s criteria in all cities and towns in Iran.
The results and the survey indicate that 9,18% of the population in Iran are involved in the early stage entrepreneurial activity (TEA), which is ranked 19 among the 42 GEM member states.
In other words, during the past 42 months, about 9 individuals out of 100 people (agreed, 18-64) have been involved in a start-up or management of a new business.
Accordingly, the measured indexes for male and female indicate that 13,76% of the male population and 4,5% of the female population are involved in TEA in Iran.
Meanwhile, the GEM mean for the male-TEA and the female-TEA has been measured to be 12,76% and 7,61% respectively.
